Environmental Concerns

I have always enjoyed being outdoors and feel we as a people need to do more for our planet. We can all do small things every day and as your state representative, I will help introduce legislation that will not only help mother earth but help you as well. First, our district is ideal for both wind farms and solar power. Both will supply clean power as well as offer our electric grid the opportunity to be updated. This in turn could help shut down an old coal plant that has outlived its usefulness.

“A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

I will also look to increase the practice of recycling both for homes and businesses with common sense approaches to both and with input and help from the members of my district. In addition, I will push for an increase in hemp farming as a much better source of pulp for paper goods as well as a host of other items. Thus saving trees from being cut down.

Finally, I will work with local municipalities to discuss moving city and county vehicles to electric when the time comes to replace older models. This too will help save money and keep our air just a little cleaner.

Do you feel strongly about any of these subjects? Would you like to help or perhaps talk about another topic? Send me a message.
