Workforce Housing

Our district is on the cusp of huge growth. Currently, there are already a large number of huge new warehouses and large national and regional companies filling them, up and down the I 65 corridor. The growth in many of the small towns in our district. New businesses are a boon for any district but only when they have people to work at these locations. Most are hiring all the time due to a lack of qualified folks who do not want to drive long distances to get to work.

“It is hard to argue that housing is not a fundamental human need. Decent, affordable housing should be a basic right for everybody in this country. The reason is simple: without stable shelter, everything else falls apart.”

As your new Representative, I will start working with communities and businesses to bring affordable housing to these areas. This in turn will allow qualified employees to work and live near their jobs. It could be as simple as a nice apartment complex or perhaps a village of Tiny homes. Either way, these options will make for better employees and better members of our community. Who will in turn become a part of that community and support local business

I will also be exploring the need to extend mass transit into the area to allow more people to come and go from Indianapolis in an effort to extend our reach and help keep traffic from becoming a huge issue in the years to come.

I invite your feedback on any of these issues. Feel free to contact me.
